Your Basic Guide To 3 Vital Fluids For Your Vehicle
Your car is like your body in many ways – it needs nourishment to keep running correctly. One of the essential things you can do to maintain your car is ensure it has the correct fluid levels. In this post, Eastern Shore Luxury Cars will provide a guide to three vital fluids your vehicle needs: engine oil, coolant, and brake fluid. We’ll also give you tips on checking these fluids and top them up when necessary.
1. Engine Oil
The engine oil in your car is responsible for lubricating and cooling the engine. Over time, it breaks down and needs to be replaced. You should check your oil level at least once a month and top it up if necessary.
It’s easy to check your engine oil level – pop the hood and find the dipstick. Pull it out and wipe it clean, then insert it back in and pull it out again. The oil level must be above the “low” mark but below or equal to the “full” value. If it’s below the “low” indicator, add oil until it reaches the required level. Do not overfill.
2. Coolant
The coolant in your car protects the engine from overheating. You should check your coolant level at least once a month and top it up if necessary.
To check the coolant level, open the radiator cap located at the front of the engine and look inside. The fluid should be up to the top of the radiator. If it’s not, add more until it is.
3. Brake Oil
Brake oil helps keep your brakes working correctly. You should check your brake oil level at least once a month and top it up if necessary.
To check the brake oil level, remove the cap on the brake fluid reservoir located under the hood near the driver’s side of the car and look inside. The brake oil should be up to the “MAX” line on the reservoir. If it’s not, add brake fluid until it is. Don’t overfill it though!
Ending Note
All of these fluids are important for keeping your car in good condition, so it’s crucial to make sure they’re all at the correct levels. You can check these levels yourself using the tips we’ve provided, or you can take your car to a service center, and they will take care of it for you. No matter what you choose to do, make sure you keep your vehicle well-lubricated and running smoothly by regularly topping up its essential fluids.
